Cisco Systems Inc. has enhanced its digital signage product suite with the introduction of two new product offerings, Enterprise TV and the Cisco Digital Media Player 4400G. Enterprise TV (ETV) is a new interactive digital media application which provides on-demand video and broadcasts live TV channels over IP, with control through a simple on-screen menu programme guide. The DMP (Digital Media Player) is a hi-def player that supports MPEG-4/H.264 and Adobe Flash 9 and can combine live playback and on-demand video with up to 4 gigabytes of locally stored media.

Cisco Systems has recently unveiled Cisco 3300 Series Mobility Services Engine. The company’s new mobile services platform will boost company’s presence in the wireless arena. Cisco 3300 Series Mobility Services Engine will allow customers to tie together a local network, such as one owned by a business, with larger outside cellular networks. Following in the foot steps of other high-profile technology players, Cisco plans to open the platform up to third-party developers, marking a drastic change in the traditionally closed-off network equipment world.
